Swimming

Foggy goggles: the condensation or fog on goggles comes from the difference in the goggles and water temperature. It will go away once they get to be the same. Just wear the goggles, let them fog and then wipe them off after about ten minutes.

Leaky goggles: comes from warped goggles OR dry skin. Since using A&D ointment around my eyes where the goggles fit, my leaks have gone away though the goggles get older and older. Here my skin was the problem and not the goggles.

Saggy swimsuit: this is due to the material. Once I started to go with 100% polyester I get tired of the suit before it sags. I’m talking years of wear. My favorite brand is Finis.

Cycling

Bike chain, cables and gears – I use Dupont Teflon Chain Saver which is a spray on and wipe off. It lubricates and keeps dirt off. I do this weekly and it’s very easy to keep up with.

Bike frame – quickly wipe it off with water and use a spray on wax weekly.

Bike clothes – keep shoes dry or fill them with newspaper and use a vinegar pre-rinse with the clothing. Buy tight clothing and loose shoes that don’t pinch your feet.

Bike saddle – get a cream for you, not the saddle. A&D ointment can work down there too and is a good after the ride ointment too.

Don’t crash – good riders are easy on their equipment. Don’t force things. Let fitness improve and don’t take chances.

Running

Shoes – have multiple pairs of shoes and use a little shoe goo when they wear a little.

Chafing – can come from hair cutting nipples, etc. Shave or cut the hair back and use some A&D ointment.

Clothing – vinegar pre-wash and probably hang dry like your cycling clothing.
